Danny Howells: Change for everybody is needed now more than ever. You know, if we’re looking at the irreparable damage that we are causing to the environment, the fact that we’re having these pandemics in the first place, three in four of these modern infections are coming from exploitation of animals, it has made me realize that now is the time that we have to do something, otherwise we have no chance.
Daphne Fernberger: I would change the whole approach, the whole focus. I think if we where to focus on the health of the the individual and the whole, all the answers would be sitting right in front of us. I don’t think it’s hugely complicated if we allow society to change for the better, I really think it’s possible. I also think of in ancient china, when the family would pay their doctor when they where healthy, not when they where sick - and that’s a huge change in approach.
Tom Szirtes: So much of our economy is based on basically exploiting natural resources - we need to be here sustainably, we do share the planet with other creatures we rely on - we have to find a balance.
Asterico: Two weeks ago the treaty for prohibition of the nuclear weapons (TPNW) that proposed the UN treaty has gained 50 signatories from nation states, which was required for it to entering to force. That was a big thing. That was the main job I’ve been working on the last two years as a part of ICON international campaign to abolish nuclear weapons and that was many peoples goal for many many many years. That came true. That came to reality. So we are thinking of a next step forward and I still do think that my job is to connect the Japanese community to this international sphere. Also just letting people know that this exists and we do have hope in this treaty to get rid of all the nuclear weapons. The next step for myself as a person is trying to let as many people know that this exists now and this is the way the world is changing. Because: ten years ago this was impossible to even imagine, but it exists now, yeah! So, people should know about this - people should know what we’ve done and what we can do.

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
Prismatic artpop dazzles on the latest from Lara Jones - Saxophone, kaleidoscopic synths whirling around distant vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Jun 26, 2023
A story of sadness, confusion, and despair ending in hope and certainty that the cosmos is not a random and meaningless jumble of atoms populated by mindless mechanical men, but a world of meaning, beauty, and truth. Emotions and the heart are not everything, but they are an essential part of being human. ianjworsomething
